I trained on Steenbeck from 1990 onwards, working as assistant to Fred Hart, Charles Rees and Mike Flynn on strands like "Cutting Edge" and "Modern Times". Some noted films I worked on were:

"Shakespeare on an Estate" - BAFTA nominee/RTS WINNER
Producer: Penny Woolcock

"A Skirt Through History " for BBC Bristol
Producer: Phillipa Lowthorpe

Other Work Experience:

During 2009 and 2010 I worked with the charity 'Leap Confronting Confilct ' where I filmed and edited a series of short films aimed at raising awareness of issues around knife crime.

Various still photography/portrait commissions.

During the late 1990's I volunteered at the Trust for Education and Development, where I worked as a researcher and coordinated an exhibition on alternative energies.

Filming
In the last ten years I have returned to my first love: the camera, shooting film with EX3 and 5D cameras. I have also trained to use a canon C300, and have been recording sound for various documentary projects. As well as shooting my own films I have worked with various charities and artists.

Portrait and documentary photography:
I have enjoyed taking pictures since I was young, and have done various professional jobs as a stills photographer. I continue to enjoy taking and printing my own pictures.

Music:
One of the things I most enjoy in film editing is choosing and laying music or working with a composer.
I am musical and enjoy an eclectic range from around the world, I like anything good - from J.S. Bach to Jimi Hendrix.

Travel:
Whenever possible. I love to experience new cultures and have traveled extensively in S.E Asia, India and in S. America.

Theatre:
Now as a theatre-goer, but past involvement included acting at the Edinburgh Festival and in various student projects.
